Has anybody ever tried sunflower bread? I have a recipe for it and am not for sure about it..what do you think

Amish Sunflower Bread





1 3/4 C unsifted all-purpose flour


2/3 C sugar


1 t cinnamon


1/8 t nutmeg


3/4 t baking powder


1/2 baking soda


1/2 t salt


3/4 C unsalted sunflower kernels


1/2 C golden raisins


3 t lemon zest


1/2 C sunflower oil


2 eggs


1 1/2 t vanilla


2 C shredded zucchini





Preheat oven to 350. Grease %26amp; flour loaf pan.





Mix flour, sugar, spices, baking soda, salt.





Mix in sunflower seeds, raisins %26amp; lemon zest.





Blend oil, eggs %26amp; vanilla in small bowl add zucchini. Stir into dry ingredients.





Spread into pan. Garnish with sunflower seeds.





Bake 55-60 minutes. Cool in pan 10 min. Cool on rack. Wrap %26amp; store overnight before slicing.

I love sunflower bread! It tastes almost like corn bread but if you like white bread or wheat bread you will love this bread. It can be used for sandwiches or you can just butter it and eat it.

1 3/4 cups flour


1 1/4 tsps baking powder


1/2 tsp baking soda


3/4 tsp salt


1 cup ripe mashed banana


2/3 cup sugar


1/2 cup shortening


2 eggs


2 Tbsps milk


1/2 cup chopped nuts








Stir together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Set aside.





In a mixer bowl, beat sugar and shortening with electric mixer til light, scaping sides of bowl often. Add eggs, one at a time, and the milk, beating til smooth after each addition. Add flour mixture and banana alternately to creamed mixture, beating til smooth after each addition. Fold in nuts.





Pour batter into lightly greased 8x4x2-inch loaf pan. Bake in a 350° oven for 60-65 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool. For easier slicing, wrap and store overnight. Makes 1 loaf.
