if a sunflower seed is placed in one's butt, either accidentally or otherwise, will it grow?

Reply:It might if you could keep it in place. Most seeds don't need light to germinate....just warmth and moisture. Your bowel movement, however, would carry it out. Seeds and spores can, however, germinate in calmer orifices of the human body. Two examples.





1.) My friend's professor went totally insane for a couple years. It turned out he had a psychedelic mushroom growing in his ear. He recovered fully.





2.) A doctor friend of mine told me that a lecturer on healthcare for Appalachian women said that sometimes the women would complain that they had the "vines"...potatoes would sprout from their reproductive tract...they had been placed there by the women themselves for some medicinal reason.

Reply:In a human body, where daily functions go on, movement of the body makes it impossible for a seed to grow in your butt. The temperature, water and Carbon dioxide requirements don't fit.

Sunflower seed used as food have generally been roasted or salted and are dead.





If a live sunflower seed stayed in the rectum long enough to germinate, it obviously could not grow, because it has no access to sunlight, soil, or water. The chances of this happening are close to nil.
