Sunflower seed shells?

I like to eat full Sunflower seeds in their shell because it tastes better, but some say you shouldn't. Is it bad to eat them in their shell?

Sunflower seed shells?
I thought you might find this amusing lol. It doesn't hurt you to eat them hull and all my nephew does it all the time as did my grandpa. You have to chew them up good. Thats why they make different flavors of sunflower seeds. They are sort of like potato or apple the skin or hull is where most of the vitamins are at. good luck, best wishes.

Reply:I do the same thing ! Thats hilarious.... I read that the hulls have a ton of fiber in them. I don't know about you but, I've noticed that the David brand is crunchier than the frito lay (or Toms) ones.... and if you've ever eaten them too fast or aren't able to completely chew up the hulls, they can be HORRIFICALLY PAINFUL when you go to the bathroom, LMAO. Thats my only horror story from eating them whole.... I had one time that I was almost in tears begging God to make it all go away, I was mere minutes away from selling my soul to the devil ! LMMFAO
Reply:As long as you chew them it should be fine. Not sure if you want to wash them first - companies would assume you'd be taking the shells off. Any shell piece that isn't chewed all the way would pass through your system.
